Assaults of young women on college campuses happens with great regularity. It has been estimated that one in four college-age women will experience some kind of sexual assault in their four years on campus. That may seem like a high number to you but when we give you the recipe for a campus sexual assault, you will see that it is actually surprisingly low. It could be a lot higher.
Here’s the recipe. Take young, beautiful, unassuming, innocent women (college freshmen); add in men who are oversexed and supercharged with testosterone; put them in a room together with drugs and alcohol and there you have it. Fraternities and sororities specialize in throwing parties where drugs and alcohol are in abundance. It is almost like a rite of passage.
How To Prevent One
We encourage women of all ages to carry a self-defense product to defend against sexual assault or any kind of assault for that matter. The one that we recommend the most is one that can be carried on a keychain. Most of those are Pepper Sprays like the one shown here. That way the pepper sprays are with you virtually wherever you go. A spray in the face of an attacker will give you as much 45 minutes to get away and seek help.
