The story details how two Iowa State University students think that they were the targets of the deadly game called the “knockout game” where players hit unsuspecting people and try to knock them out. There have been reports of the game being played in cities across the U.S., sometimes causing serious injuries or death.

These attacks are particularly vicious because frequently they happen to senior citizens or women.

Here is a story from Revelstoke, British Columbia in Canada, a town that has a population of less than 7500 and is located 400 miles east of Vancouver-in other words out in the middle of nowhere.

The story is about a wave of how high profile assaults in North America called the Knockout Game.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have been investigating a series of “disturbing, random and violent attacks involving blindsiding a victim with no warning.” The object of the “game” is to knock someone out with one punch.

An RCMP spokesman said that it wasn’t really clear what the motivation behind these attacks was but he speculated that it could be the “knockout game” that has been spreading across North America like wildfire. He was very quick to point out that this is not a game at all, but instead of vicious violent felony assault.

Canada does not have any restrictions on the use of self-defense products as far as we know, so a pepper spray like this one on a Keychain would be a good way for people to defend themselves.

One of the victims was punched in the parking lot of a Denny’s restaurant will another occurred outside Campisi’s.

The purpose of the knockout game is to attack someone and knock them out in one punch. They are completely random and can happen during daylight or evening hours. They started in New York about three weeks ago as the knockout game but a variation of this is been around for two decades.

“The FBI describes the “knockout game” as an assault with the aim to incapacitate an unsuspecting victim with one punch. The disturbing trend dates back to 1992. Although victims are usually selected on the basis of race, age seems to be a common theme as well.”

Police note that this is not a “game” and that perpetrators can be charged with a federal hate crime which elevates the seriousness of the assault. The attacks occur with such speed that victims often are not able to identify their assailants. This forces police to rely on witnesses which are few and far between.

We always recommend that women especially carry a self-defense product with them wherever they go. If they get something that’s on a keychain like this Fox Pepper Spray is much more likely to be with them when they need it.
