Ever Considered Investing in a Surveillance System

Have you ever given serious thought to investing in a residential surveillance system for your home? Most homeowners I've spoken with have not. Many assume surveillance equipment will cost them a small fortune. Others don't see a need. Still others think they don't possess the technical knowledge to maintain the system. Let me start by saying that every homeowner should consider installing some type of surveillance on their property. A security system is great, I have one myself, but while a security system will protect your home, it will not record the "happenings" around the clock! Surveillance cameras record to a hard drive or DVR; when needed you can retrieve the day(s) and time range to determine what occurred. Surveillance video can be used to assist law enforcement and in court for prosecution. The old saying holds true, "A picture is worth a thousand words"! The cost of a complete quality surveillance system is between $1,500 and $3,000 dollars. This includes a PC based multiple channel Digital Video Recorder, the day/night cameras, monitor, and any cable needed. A four channel system meets the needs of most residential customers. They are available in wired or wireless versions. DVR Specifications: Video Format = MPEG4 Video Input = 4 ch composite BNC Video Output = VGA & Composite BNC Audio In = 1 ch RCA Audio Out = 1 ch RCA Hard Drive = 250GB (Can be upgraded) Recording Resolution = 720x240 (NTSC), 360 x 240 (NTSC) LAN Connector = RJ45 Dimensions = 8.5" (L) x 8" (D) x 1.5" (H) Just take a minuted and observe the following crime statistics provided by the FBI. A robbery is taking place nearly every minute in the US. A burglary occurs every 15 seconds in our country. The average loss reported exceeds $2000, so as you can see an investment in a surveillance system is a very smart move. I encourage you to take the next step in residential security and step up to a surveillance system. So you don't have that kind of money or you just not willing to make that kind of investment. Well, their are single cameras systems that you can start with for less than $200. Many residential customers have decided to use "dummy cameras". They look and feel just like the real thing, but they really don't record. The are fake, but still provide a deterrence, as a criminal has no way of knowing if it is real or not. They would much rather go after an easier target. Hidden cameras or nanny cams have become quite popular. In today's' society the majority of households have mom and dad working full time. This means we are forced to trust others to care for our children. If you want that "peace of mind" the comfort that comes with knowing that the most important person(s) in your life is safe you need to invest in a hidden camera. You can actually watch how the babysitter or nanny is caring for your little one when you're away! In closing I hope you will consider upgrading or enhancing your current home security with some sort of surveillance equipment.
