This is a story about sexual assaults at Sacramento State University. There is nothing new here, sexual assaults on college campuses across the country is a huge problem.. In 2010, students at Sacramento State could find media releases from the Sacramento State Police Department warning students about sexual assaults that had happened on campus. You can read the whole story HERE. "As defined by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, sexual assault and abuse can be verbal, visual or anything that forces a person to join in unwanted sexual contact or attention. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control conducted a survey with 5,000 students at more than 100 college campuses, and found out of those women surveyed, 20 percent had been forced to submit to sexual intercourse against their will." That number may actually be low. Several studies show that as many as 25% have been sexually assaulted. The scary part is that only one out of every 10 assaults ever gets reported. It doesn't matter if you're on a college campus or not, one of the best ways to defend yourself against any kind of an assault is with the self-defense product like a pepper spray or a stun gun The Tornado Defense System can protect you in three ways with a powerful defensive spray, loud personal alarm and strobe light all to ward off attackers.
