Oregon State Students On Edge After Sexual Assault-Safety Tips For You

This is an article about a sexual assault that occurred near the campus of Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. A non-campus visitor was assaulted by a predator. Since it was so close to the University, University officials and students are on edge

Police are telling students these safety tips.

“1. Always be aware of your surroundings and try to walk and park in well-lit areas at night;

2.Do not go out alone at night if possible; students who must come to campus alone at night should consider using the Saferide service;

3.Students who wish to have an escort at night from a campus building to their car or residence hall may call Public Safety

4. Carry a cell phone and flashlight and do not wear headphones.”

5. If you must walk alone, call someone on your phone and let them know your route and when you will arrive.
