The Reason We Do Self Defense

Like most of you every so often I am reminded of what is truly important in life. Most of us spend the majority of our time entrenched in the "rat race" that has become our lives. This reminder came via one of our customers. Here is what she had to say, "Bryan, Thank you so much for this email. A few months ago I ordered the key chain pepper spray and assumed that I would never have to use it. However, just this evening while walking to my front door I was approached by a man who tried to engage in a conversation with me. When he tried to walk closer to me I warned him to stay away and that I was carrying pepper spray. He instantly went on his way. I went inside and locked up. However being what I consider a nice person, I allowed myself to feel bad about how I reacted. I regretted that I might have really offended this perfectly nice and normal looking guy. " I was naturally on edge and decided to check my email to wind down. I used the link to the family watchdog site and was shocked to see the actual pictures of rapists who live just blocks from me. They all looked nice and normal as well. It reassured me that my own protection is nothing to feel guilty about. The incident made me feel fortunate and very proud to be a customer of Guardian." You see late last week I decided to send an email out to our Self Defense list. The actual email is below, but the point was to increase Awareness. In this case we focused on Sexual Predators. You can read the email below if you have time. Today when I opened my email and read this I instantly got "goosebumps" and had that really good, satisfied feeling. I was caught up in my "rat race", doing my normal day to day grind. Working for the weekend, getting by! It is messages like this that "SLAP YOU". All of a sudden I was like "Wake Up". We should look forward to each and every day and cherish the time we have with our husbands, wives, sons, daughters, etc. Every day is a new opportunity to make a difference and today I truly feel like we did. I got involved in the self defense business for this very reason. To help the "good folks"; It's amazing how quickly we forget our mission or passion. It's also interesting how those "little reminders" can bring us back down to earth.
