Here's an article that was in US News and World Report last week about a major insurance company that paid out $109 million for dog bite claims in 2011. The number of claims and the amount paid for them is up from 2010. You can read the rest of the story HERE. There are some things you can do to protect yourself against dog bites and dog attacks. The best thing obviously is to arm yourself with some self defense products that are geared towards fending off dog attacks and consequent dog bites. One of the best known is called the dog chaser. It sends out ultrahigh frequency sound that scares dogs away. The sound is only heard by dogs and will not bother your neighbors.
